Privacy policy

The short version

Storyball does not require an account or a registration. Child profiles, game progress, scores, medals and playtime are stored on your device and are never sent to any server. There are no in-app purchases, so no payment information exists anywhere in the app.

What we collect

Storyball is a children's app that pairs with a physical Storyball toy over Bluetooth. It does not ask for a name, an email address, a phone number or a date of birth for anyone other than the profile a parent chooses to create, and that profile stays on the device.

Stored locally, and only locally:

• Child profiles — the name and the avatar a grown-up picks.
• Game progress: which levels are finished, which storyballs are unlocked.
• Scores, medals, playtime and session counts, per profile.
• Settings: the language, night mode, whether the tutorials have been seen.

All of it lives in the app's own storage. Deleting the app removes it permanently, and there is no copy of it anywhere else to remove.

Bluetooth

The app uses Bluetooth to connect to and communicate with the physical Storyball toy. That link carries instructions to the ball and readings back from it — which story to play, which movement just happened, how much battery is left. It is used solely to operate the toy. It is not stored, not shared and not transmitted beyond the two devices, and nothing about your child is on it, because nothing about your child is known to the ball.

Content downloads

The app downloads stories, games, audio and artwork from our servers so that the ball has new things to play. Those requests ask for files by name. They do not require personal information, and no user data is sent during the process.

Children's privacy

Storyball is designed for use by children. We do not collect, store or share any personal information from children. Profiles created within the app are stored only on the device and are never transmitted externally. There is no chat, no friends list, no social feature and nothing public anywhere in the app.

Third-party services

The app may use basic analytics and crash reporting to help us see which parts of it are failing. These services do not collect personally identifiable information, and nothing a child does inside a game — no profile name, no score, no progress — is sent to them.

No purchases

Storyball offers no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. No payment or financial information is collected, because there is nothing in the app to pay for.

Data storage and security

All user data is stored locally on your device, protected by the same operating-system protections that cover the rest of the apps on it. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

Your rights

Because nothing is held on our side, there is nothing on our side to request, correct or delete. Everything the app knows is on the device and under your control, and deleting the app ends it completely. For anything else, write to storyball@baansoftware.com.

This site

This website runs no JavaScript, sets no cookies, embeds nothing from anyone else and loads no third-party fonts or scripts. Visiting it tells us nothing beyond what any web server necessarily handles in order to answer a request.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any change is reflected on this page with an updated date at the top.
